Bloom
Aroview: The second attempt at adaptating James Joyce's famously 'difficult' novel "Ulysses" is more ambitious (and successsful) than the 1967 version at tracing the multifarious activities of its Dubliners on one day in 1904.
Shot on video after years of preparation, this was a labour of love for its director, who despite some great dialogue, is still hampered by the challenge of conveying the complex structures and narratives of the book. Undoubtably of greatest interest to Joyce-o-philes.
