Aroview: A lavish historical epic financed by the royal family of Thailand (and directed by a prince) and centred around two powerful women - a princess and a consort - who pursue their destinies while the imperial rivalries of the 16th century Asia swirl around them.

Cut down from its local 4-hour duration, this is still slow-moving, but features some absolutely grand battle scenes in the pre-CGI style, including one involving dueling elephants armies.
