Metzengerstein (Dir. Roger Vadim) - Jane and Peter Fonda star as lovers, whose passion persists beyond death in the form of an eerie black stallion.

William Wilson (Dir. Louis Malle) - Poe's famous doppelganger tale is handled with wit by dir. Malle, with Alain Delon solid in the twin lead roles.

Toby Dammit (Dir. Federico Fellini) - Possibly the most successful of the three has Terence Stamp playing a deranged actor in a Fellini-esque Roman cityscape.

4 stars (Very Good) Five stars for the third segment. Four stars for the second segment. One star for the first segment. Average rounded up to four stars. Just skip the worthless Vadim part and pretend it's a two-parter. ~Pearce
