Connie and Carla
Aroview: In an unusual twist on the 'drag comedy' genre Toni Collette and Nia Vardalos are pursued by mobsters and escape by posing as drag-queens on the LA party circuit.
Here they fall in with drag-queen crowd and find themselves strangely at home, writer/actor Vardalos continuing the tone of feelgood farce she developed in MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING. Takes some credit for its easily-played slapstick, though gives in to sentimentality in the end, handing out a few too many 'life lessons' to the audience.
