Shoebox Zoo (TV Series)

Aroview: An imaginative British fantasy series for children, has a Canadian exchange student (Douglas) living in Edinburgh inherit a box of toy animals, that come alive after dark for nocturnal missions to recapture an enigmatic book, 'The Chosen One'.

The animals turn out to be inhabited by human souls, trapped in time, and voiced by a variety of British talents (Mayall, Cumming, Callow...). Develops well over Series 1, though much of its potential was untapped by the finale. Definitely worth a look for the target audience.
