Aroview: An Italian woman finds her life and desires fraying away, as she struggles to support her family in the apartment blocks of Rome, while coming to grips with a random house-guest who happens to be a geriatric Holocaust survivor.
In the lead, Mezzogiomo ultimately dreams of leaving her factory job to be a pastry chef, but finds she must first 'rediscover' her own life-history first. The dir. of IGNORANT FAIRIES weaves an even more complex pattern of everyday moments, revelations, and lurches towards love and fulfillment, which accumulates into a moving portrayal of the improvised theatre of life.
Perhaps a little overloaded with erotic distractions, this is nonetheless a top-shelf piece of European arthouse from a rising talent.
