Absentia (2011): Mike Flanagans debut shows signs of greatness and reflects his love of Force of Nature horror. Sadly it does suffer from budget issues, but if you can put up with it's very indie feel and don't mind a slow burn there are moments where it really delivers
In the Mouth of Madness (1994): This movie is absurd but everyone involved with it is so committed that it stays intensely watchable all the way through, despite its silliness. The result is best described as Lovecraft by the Way of Stranger than Fiction.
