Unknown White Male

USA 2005, 92 minutes
Dir. Robert Murray
Rating: [M]
Genres: Documentary

Aroview: Suitably amazed documentary tracks the true story of British stockbroker Doug Bruce, who regained consciousness one day on a Coney Island train, suffering a complete blank as to his identity and former life.

After being processed by police, who discovered who he was, Bruce returned to Europe to encounter his family and friends for "the first time", none of which prompted any recovery from his amnesia. Gently probing philosophical questions as to how much personality is determined by memory, and whether one can ever 'start all over again', this proves a thoughtful and eerie cinematic voyage.
