When a Stranger Calls
Aroview: Tense, if skeletal, remake of the original 1970s babysitter thriller in which Camilla Belle minds the children in a remote house fitted with hi-tech gadgetry, only to find herself pestered by heavy-breathing phone calls.
Dir. West (CON AIR) offers a few creepy scares, once the main character realises the caller is stalking her inside the house, but the minimalist story approach isn't quite matched in the execution. Worth a look though for the impressive architecture, which is wreathed in effective visual shadowplay.
