Maxed Out

USA 2006, 90 minutes
Dir. James D. Scurlock
Genres: Documentary

Topics: Business & Economics.

Aroview: Exposing further blemishes (or is that crevices?) in the American capitalist model, this is a necessary indictment of America's credit card industry that feeds off the 'venus fly trap' of debt.

Making a solid, if by now familiar, case of how corporations put profit before people, with the casual complicity of conservative (Republican) government, this does lack the true nerve and focus of investigative journalism, but makes its point most strongly through the hard luck stories of the vulnerable and the victimized.
