Girls Rock!

Aroview: Lightweight doco centered around the Portland-based Rock & Roll Camp for Girls, where girls from 8-18 participate in a therapeutic week of rocking out.

Despite the goldmine potential of a roomful of troubled tweens and teens, dir Johnson skims over their back-stories in favour of quick-cut montages full of self-esteem statistics and footage from industrial films. Highlight is the climactic final day where the girls get to perform (for better and worse) using their newly learned musical skill.
