Edgeplay - A Film about The Runaways

USA 2004, 109 minutes, NTSC
Dir. Victory Tischler-Blue
Genres: Music, Documentary / Pop/Rock, Girl-centric

Aroview: Minus the input of Joan Jett (who denied the filmmakers access to her songs), this rough-and-ready retrospective of The Runaways' heady success (and eventual decline) is still a must for fans of the breakout 70s all-female rockers.

Directed by bassist Victory Blue, the documentary offers candid (and at times, bitchy) insight from band members largely overlooked in the recent biopic, though is ultimately lacking the fiery personalities of Jett and manager Kim Fowley to deliver the real backstage goss.
