Italy 1979, 91 minutes
Dir. Lucio Fulci
Rating: [R18]
Genres: Horror / Walking Dead, Splatter
Feat. Tisa Farrow, Ian McCulloch, Richard Johnson
Aroview: The Italian goremeister's answer to DAWN OF THE DEAD (and originally marketed as a sequel to it) sees zombies making grisly mincemeat of various poor souls. As is always the case with Fulci, some high production values, some low class acting and storytelling, and a genuine level of crazed intensity generally unmatched outside of a few disturbing Italian horror films make this either a genre classic, or a good example of the notion of "video nasty", depending on perspective.
On VHS, a truncated version (85 minutes).

3 stars (Good Enough) This is how zombies should be portrayed - these days its a tired genre. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) Exceptional practical effects and make up for the zombies within this film, Surpasses Tom Savinis zombies within the George Romero films. Very campy silly voodoo zombie film however. ~Anon
4 stars (Very Good) one of my favorite zombie films, lucio fulci is a legend when it comes to gore ~Wyatt Earp
4 stars (Very Good) Another Fulci classic, with some terrible acting and some iconic horror cinema scenes - THAT eye scene. ~trauma_hound412
