“a classic B picture fortified with all manner of Grade A resources.”~Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times
Aroview: A masterfully intense dramatization of the gruelling experience of frontiersman Hugh Glass and his fight for survival after being mauled by a bear, betrayed, and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.
Stunningly photographed and featuring an Oscar-winning, endurance-testing performance by Leonardo DiCaprio, director Alejandro Inarritu also collected a Best Director Oscar for the second successive year following his win for BIRDMAN.

		- 4 stars (Very Good) The sort of Serious epic that Hollywood oft-promises but seldom delivers. If not quite as profound as it thinks, it is a thrilling spectacle, at once mythic and palpably real. DiCaprio's damn good; Hardy's villain maybe better. ~fairbrother
- 2 stars (Good Try) The film shoots itself in the foot by being far too long and therefore loses its impact. The story drags. Its a pity because the location shooting is stunning. The stunt work and the animal training are also commendable. ~Tubbs
