“Huppert has always been good, but she’s never been better than this. Often shocking, surprisingly funny and strangely powerful, this is intense and fascinating.”~Helen O'Hara, Empire
Aroview: Controversial, unflinching drama closely following the perspective of a woman who is repeatedly raped by the same masked intruder, but whose unexpected reactions (observed in a stunning performance by Huppert) eschew the traits of victimhood, instead presenting a heroine both strong and psychologically complex.
Presented in what has become Verhoeven's signature style, a provocative mix of glamour, violence, nail-biting suspense and the blackest of humour - unpalatable or thrilling depending on your taste.

(Good Enough). Showing 1-1 of 1 member reviews.
3 stars (Good Enough) Vicious look at aspects of middle-class French life - apparently the preoccupation of French filmmakers since Godard. Tiresome compared with, say The Separation (Iran). Best part of the DVD are the extras - as always truth outshines fantasy. ~Sandy
