Aroview: Much maligned 'black musical' version of L. Frank Baum's classic fairytale (best known through the Judy Garland version).
Here, New York City was transformed into Oz, utilising various locations in a magical recasting of the fable. Dance numbers involved often 400 extras, and yet despite the funk-soul inflection, they pale against the classic original songs.
