Aroview: A renowned fantasy film, in which four medieval warriors search the universe for twin swords with which to defeat a powerful demon, which threatens to unleash a flood of evil onto the world.

Dir. Hark famously employed the best Hollywood special f/x artists to conjure a dazzling and fantastical backdrop, against which acrobatic martial arts scenes are powerfully sketched. The film's only real weakness is in the script, which fails to fully enlighten on points of Chinese mythology - however repeat viewings will unravel the dense layers of subtext.
