Mysterious Island

Aroview: Robust adventure yarn finds a group of Yankee soldiers escaping a Confederate jail using a hot air balloon during the American Civil War.

After this thrilling opener they find themselves on the titular island which is ruled by Captain Nemo (Lom), the story revealing itself to be a sequel to 20000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA. The island is also found to contain gigantic creatures, produced in Nemo's lab, rendered vividly by the cine-magic of Ray Harryhausen.
