Tyrannical Love
Aroview: A homegrown low-budget comedy that follows the romantic manouverings amongst a group of young adults in Pakuranga, Auckland just before the millenium-turning New Years Eve of 1999.
Shaking a relaxed comedy of Kiwi manners out of the familiar territory of suburban 'middle New Zealand', this pays respect to emotional truths of friendship and burgeoning adulthood, while wringing the comic absurdities for all they've got. Although edgier than HOPELESS, this is comparably endearing.
