Farewell to the King
Aroview: Half-successful attempt to fashion a mythic tale from the Japanese invasion of Borneo in WW2, with a US Army deserter (Nolte) and a British soldier (Havers) leading tribesmen followers through multiple perils.
Dir. Milius scripted parts of APOCALYPSE NOW and here he attempts to create another tale of the 'Great White Man' in the jungle, but unfortunately can't bind his narrative without cliches constantly bursting out. However, there are some good, visually splendid moments and the story may well get under your skin.
