A Dirty Shame
Aroview: An outrageous, if obvious, return to boundary-crossing comedy for dir. John Waters (PINK FLAMINGOS), with Tracey Ullman playing a repressed suburban housewife who gets a bump on her head and wakes up a sex maniac.
Guided by "sexual healer" Knoxville into the wondrous world of the carnal imagination, she becomes caught in a conflict between other erotically-charged residents of Baltimore and the 'neuters', also trying to interest her husband (Isaak) in the fun and games. Imbued with a fairly goofy and inane sensibility, this is hardly a moral challenge, and certainly succeeds as none-too-shameful entertainment.
