Skeleton Key

Aroview: A young woman (Hudson) gets a job caring for a troubled elderly stroke victim (Hurt) in a swampside manor in rural Louisiana, coming to realise there are many skeletons in the closets of his life, and seemingly no key of explanation.

The man's stern wife (Rowlands) seems to suggest the presence of a nearby Hoodoo - as distinct from Voodoo - cult may be to blame for various bumps in the night, bones hanging from trees and lightning flashes. Glossily filmed bayou hokum, this may just be worth it for the protracted and tense finale.
