5 stars (Exceptional) Brilliant! Full of the dirt and grime and blood that certainly would've characterised this period in history. Kevin McKidd sizzles as Bothwell, and Clémence Poésy is stunning as Mary Queen of Scots. In the second part, Carlyle is, as always, genius. ~kitkim
