Search for the Northwest Passage
Aroview: A partially dramatised documentary examines the two most famous expeditions which attempted to find a passage around the northern-most extremity of the North American continent.
In the 1830s, Sir John Franklin famously vanished into the icy wastes, while 50 years later, the Norwegian explorer Raoul Amundsen finally fought a path through the icebergs. While these narratives are acted out onscreen, an informative commentary both reflects upon their motives and the changed landscapes of the Arctic region.
