Requiem From The Darkness (TV Series)

Aroview: A supernatural anime series set in the Edo period, in which an aspiring writer, Momosuke, sets out into the troubled land to collect 100 ghost stories for a book.

However, soon he finds himself teaming up with an uncanny trio of wanderers who dispense appropriate justice to evildoers wherever the go. Based on the novel by Natsuniko Kyogoku, this is not distinguished by great animation, but has a grisly mood all its own.
