King of the Hill (TV Series)
Aroview: Smart animated sitcom about a redneck Texan salesman 'Hank Hill' and his family, which finds its own middle-American way into the cult territory occupied by THE SIMPSONS.
Created by Mike Judge (BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD) this pokes wry fun at Hill's bemused-confused response to the modern world, and surrounds him with an array of amiably drawn eccentrics. As maturely complex in its way as other TV working-class perspectives, like "Roseanne".
Season 1 (13 episodes): Pilot, Square Peg, The Order of the Straight Arrow, Hank's Got the Willies, Luanne's Saga, Hank's Unmentionable Problem, Westie Side Story, Shins of the Father, Peggy the Boggle Champ, Keeping Up With Our Joneses, Plastic White Female, Hank The Company Man, King of the Ant Hill

4 stars (Very Good) And they say Americans can't do drollery. The sly mockery here is dead-on but affectionate, revelling in the characters' flaws and limitations while affirming their common decency. At it's best, it's poignant, perceptive, and hilarious. ~fairbrother
