A Home at the End of the World
Aroview: A strange dramatic creation from the writer of THE HOURS, concerns an unusual orphan manchild (Farrell) with a desire to make 'everyone happy' who goes from 1970s druggy experimentation into an odd NYC love-triangle with a gay boyhood friend and a pregnant wild woman (Penn).
Requiring a measure of good grace from an audience, this melange of hippy idealism and square-peg conflict is only fitfully successful, yet certain scenes are uniquely resonant. Farrell also manages to abandon his usual scenery-chewing for an excellent portrayal of magnetic, manipulative sincerity.

4 stars (Very Good) A story about wanting to belong, and how the definition of family has changed. It has it's flaws, but sit back and enjoy the ride. Great soundtrack. ~rat1512
3 stars (Good Enough) A bit too much hugging and kissing but it does have other segments that make it worthwhile. ~Tubbs
