Truman Show, The
Aroview: A brilliantly conceived script by expat-Kiwi whizz-kid Andrew Niccol (GATTACA) finds consummate direction in the hands of esteemed veteran Peter Weir, and the result is a landmark film.
It's the ultimate conspiracy movie, and perhaps the last word on dog-eared '90s fixations (tele-voyeurism, commercialism), whilst also cleverly ruminating on questions of reality, identity, philosophy and even The Man Upstairs. Easily one of the brightest and most innovative films to emerge from Hollywood this decade.

5 stars (Exceptional) A smart, insightful dramedy with a brilliant sense of style and heart as well as a stunning performance fom Carrey. ~Wizzums
4 stars (Very Good) Hollywood finally gets smart, with a comedy/drama that is both funny and insightful, touching on big philosophical and societal 'big brother' questions. Carrey is perfect as the confused Mr Truman. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) A very good concept and the set designs/props of the suburban housing very good. ~Tubbs
