An Autumn Afternoon
Aroview: Dir. Ozu's final work is one of his best - an appropriately autumnal evocation of age and dependency, set around a widower who sorrowfully arranges for his faithful daughter to be married. One of only a handful of Ozu's films to be made in colour, this remains instilled with his use of static vignettes and observation of subtle personal interractions.
