Warm Springs
Aroview: Typically smooth and competent HBO biopic, which dramatises Franklin D. Roosevelt's (Branagh) pre-presidency years, especially the period from when he was diagnosed with polio in 1921 through to his political rehabilitation in 1924 after recuperating at the Warm Springs resort in Georgia.
Although nominally the story of a medical recovery, this really charts the crucial personal advances, from wealthy playboy into moral leader, of one of the most influential individuals of the 20th century. If your historical interest extends to American political esoterica, this is essential viewing, both Branagh and Nixon giving perfectly-judged performances.
