We Can Be Heroes (TV Series)
Aroview: Hoisting the tried-and-true "mock-umentary" to new heights, the fiendishly talented Chris Lilley assumes no less than six roles in this often hilarious search for the "Australian of the Year".
Taking the form of a fictional reality series tracing the hopes and aspirations of five nominees for the prestigious national award, this never strays beyond the successful mock-umentary formula, and is loaded with enough awkward moments and embarrassing faux pas' to rank in the cringe-worthy tradition of THE OFFICE. What identifies this from the numerous others is the chameleon performance of Lilley, who covers an entire enthnology of Australian society with his pinpoint satirical impressions of obnoxious and spoilt teenagers, a bright Asian student, and a crestfallen police officer in the vein of David Brent, among others.
