Pride
Aroview: Quaintly original and rather winning BBC production about a lionness who rebels against her home 'pride', first, by thinking of becoming a vegetarian, and then choosing to mate with a unsuitable lion from the other side of the river.
Created with a combination of vivid footage from the plains of the Serengeti, touched up with CGI enhancements, this creates some fairly compelling characters with the aid of various actor's voices (including Kate Winslet, Sean Bean, Robbie Coltrane, Jim Broadbent and John Hurt). Paying close attention and creatively interpreting the behaviour of the real lions, this creates a genuinely imaginative journey into well-worn territory.
