Fungus the Bogeyman

Aroview: An adventurous, if flawed adaptation of Raymond Briggs' children's book - in many ways a precursor to SHREK - where a typical British family come to discover the strange (and to their eyes disgusting) world of the Fungus clan, who are living happily away beneath their house, trying to avoid the 'drycleaners' (humans) of the world 'up top'.

Although well-cast and easily capturing the wicked ironies of Briggs' creation, the CGI-rendering of Bogeydom is disappointingly bland. But for those in-the-know, this is still certain to raise many chuckles at the expense of our slime and germ phobic selves.
