Death in Gaza
Aroview: A powerful, if not devastating, study of two children and a teenager growing up in the fractious and perilous Gaza Strip, where attacks by Israel and the corresponding hatred of Palestinians has spawned a seemingly permanent culture of hatred, violence and thwarted hope.
Presented by reporter Saira Shah, the filming was notoriously interrupted when director James Miller was gunned down by an Israeli soldier in 2003 near the end of filming. Although not overshadowing the rest the film, this fact casts a sobering pall over events rendered more palpable and real than any other documentary yet made about this troubled region.
