Basic Instinct 2
Aroview: A belated and troublesome sequel to the 1992 sex'n'suspense hit which made Sharon Stone famous, has the psychopathic blonde novelist return, now in trouble with the British coppers over a highly suspicious drowning in the Thames river.
Slipping the murder charge, Stone dutifully assigns herself to therapy with the police psychiatrist (Morrisey) whom she playfully destabilises with numerous innuendos and suggestions of risky kinky sex. Although devoid of the eye-opening moments of Paul Verhoeven's trash-classic original, this at least summons some basic suspense and a lurid, if talky, climax.
