Aroview: A ruffled Frenchman (Auteuil) - family man and professor - in the throes of a mid-life crisis travels to London, where he enjoys the Soho nightlife and slowly takes up the profession of a male prostitute, servicing various women for his pimp (Townsend).

Although initially satisfied by this new lifestyle, Auteuil eventually veers into an ever-seedier world of drug addiction and despair. Based on an idea by Hanif Kureishi, this takes a little-examined subject and delivers a challenging treatise of love, money and loneliness. Rather underrated and definitely worth the journey.
