Inside Man
Aroview: Proficient, personalised heist thriller from dir. Spike Lee (25TH HOUR) in which a smooth and cold super-crim (Owen) engineers the robbery of the Manhattan Trust Bank in New York with the aid of several dozen hostages, but bringing down upon himself the world-weary veterans of the NYPD (Washington and Ejifor).
It also turns out the robbery ruffles the feathers of a powerful safe-deposit box holder (Plummer), with secrets dating back to the WW2 Nazi era, who sends in a troubleshooter (Foster) to monitor the situation. Slickly produced, with an ample dosage of suspense, this entertains most with sparks of ethnic politics and humour, coupled with the same slightly-crazed dialogue he brought to CLOCKERS.
