Aroview: Al Pacino is stunning as a deluded no-hoper who robs a New York bank to finance his lover's sex change operation. Riveting drama based on a bizarre true story.

4 stars (Very Good) A very strange and almost too-funny to be true story of a bank robbery gone wrong. Or right, if public fame is what you're after. Establishes a number of elements seen in more recent films like 'Inside Man'. ~Tom H
5 stars (Exceptional) Pacino's greatest performance, with lumet dragging hitchcock's tension through the gutters ~artsfiend
3 stars (Good Enough) For about the first hour the screenplay is very strong - you would bet that you were watching an Irish comedy - but then it weakens out. Being shorter could have helped. ~Tubbs
