Aroview: An unusual and invigorating self-reflexive documentary created by the teenage sister of acclaimed filmmaker Samira Makhmalbaf, during the casting of Samira's 2003 feature AT FIVE IN THE AFTERNOON in post-Taliban Afghanistan.

As contrasted with the usual filmmaking travails of 'making of' docos, this reveals the curious and strange obstacles thrown up by a multi-ethnic society in a process of semi-chaotic reconstruction. Consequently the film becomes a reflection of political and personal instability, also creating an honest portrait of the Makhmalbaf clan (both father and mother are also directors) as they go about in the dust and heat of Kabul, cajoling and persuading people to be involved.
