Story of Marie and Julien, The
Aroview: Meandering and hypnotic tale of the supernatural from French master Jacques Rivette, which begins in the apparently nondescript world of a Parisian clock-repairer (Radziwilowicz) who is having an affair with an enigmatic woman (Beart), who seems to have no grasp on the world and even fails to bleed when she is cut.
With events increasingly hovering between dream, reverie and an elusive reality, this sees Rivette return to the same cinematic poetry of consciousness he mastered in CELINE AND JULIE GO BOATING with equal suggestiveness.
