Aroview: Second retread for the 'boy racer' franchise takes an Asian detour, with hothead Lucas Black having one car-smash too many and being sent to live with his unsympathetic father in Tokyo.
It isn't long before he discovers the underground racing scene, which in Japan's crowded streets involves super-smooth manouvering (including mastery of the 'Tokyo drift' skid), drifting also into the company of Yakuza criminals. Although nicely tooled and better than 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS, there is a certain lack of pizzazz in the tank.
Average rating (Good Enough). Showing 1-3 of 3 member reviews.
2 stars (Good Try) With a ridiculous plot, this third in the series has none of the original cast, but manages to bring a sort-of 'new' element: the drift, which successfully carries the series along. ~Tom H
4 stars (Very Good) Lin brings deft direction, the car races, set in an interesting cramped urban milieu, are much improved. Embracing the trashy but slick nature that such a film should, surprisingly, this is easily the best of the series. 楽しみ! ~SteveParkes
2 stars (Good Try) Very familiar format. Good stunt driving and not a bad vibrant sound track. Photogenic cast and some enjoyment can be had from viewing the male posturing. ~Tubbs
