Hoodwinked!
Aroview: Postmodern childrens' animation loosely based on the story of 'Little Red Riding Hood' follows the SHREK-model of rewiring fairytales with smug pop-culture references and revisionist irony, producing not-unamusing results.
Purporting to tell the 'true story' behind the tale of the little girl (Hathaway), her grandmother (Close), the woodsman (Belushi) and the big bad wolf (Warburton), this splits into four different narratives of the same events told from each characters's perspective. Perhaps most bold in rewriting 'Grannie' as an aggressively sports-mad old coot and the 'Wolf' as an investigative reporter, this only fitfully finds hits an effectively comedic groove - even so, kids will be sufficiently 'hoodwinked' by its brash stylings and bubble-gum songs.

3 stars (Good Enough) Nice modern spin on Little Red Riding Hood, these characters are very engaging and there's a clever snappy storyline that holds the attention span. No boring old-fashion Grannie in this version, that's for sure. ~GenXGirl
3 stars (Good Enough) Funny looking animation but it does the job - grannie leads the entertainment. ~Tubbs
