Aroview: Another superb Pixar animation, set in a world of talking automobiles, in which a cocky race car ('Lightning McQueen') gets stranded in a small town after a speeding infringement results in an enforced bout of community service.

Having to literally slow down, he begins to take in the attractions of a once-thriving but now abandoned mid-western burg on the legendary Route 66. Marshalled with TLC by the director of TOY STORY, this might be less zippy than other Pixars like FINDING NEMO, but carries a melancholy subtext about a 'lost America' that powerfully transcends mere nostalgia.

4 stars (Very Good) Racecar legend Lightening McQueen goes AWOL right before the race of his career and finds himself trapped in a sleepy abandoned hill-billy town, where he learns the true meaning of friendship and loyalty. A sure hit with young car enthusiasts. ~GenXGirl
