Aroview: Excellent WEST WING-style political drama has Geena Davis depict an imagined first woman President of the USA, an independent senator who is thrust by circumstance (the incumbent President dies after surgery) into the top job and must face hostile Republicans who would prefer her to have resigned. As her chief foe, Donald Sutherland is convincingly snakelike and provides much of the antagonistic energy, surrounded by a predictable jumble of political and family issues.

Was inexplicably cancelled after one season by the ABC network, even though Davis won a Golden Globe for her performance.

2 stars (Good Try) Once the freshness of the main idea wears off it becomes repetitive as each crisis needs to be faced. It was no different to watching the news. Unfortunately, Geena had a family which meant writing in unnecessary characters but she & Sutherland were good. ~Tubbs
