21 Hours at Munich

USA 1976, 101 minutes
Dir. William A. Graham
Rating: [M]
Genres: Classics, Action/Adventure / Hostages & Terrorism

Topics: Period 1970s.

Aroview: Teledrama depiction of the infamous events at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, where the terrorist group Black September took 11 Israeli athletes hostage with tragic results.

Straightforward in approach, this concentrates almost entirely on the white-knuckle events of the 21 hours in question, without going into the troublesome backdrop of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Holden and Nero also deliver standout performances as the leaders of the German police and terrorists respectively.
