Masters of Horror Vol. 3

Aroview: The brainchild of dir. Mick Garris (THE STAND), this anthology produced by the Showtime cable network commissions some of the genre's greatest exponents to direct a 60-minute horror film, and has garnered a cult following in and out of the US, where the likes of John Carpenter, Dario Argento and Takashi Miike (whose episode was subsequently banned from the airwaves) have contributed memorably to the series.

PICK ME UP: Larry Cohen concocts an interesting mash-up of two urban legends of the highway ('the hitchhiker who kills his rides' & 'the serial-killer who kills hitchhikers'!) with Fairuza Balk caught in the middle.

HOMECOMING: Joe Dante (GREMLINS) directs the most politically-orientated episode of the series, in which US casualties of an unpopular war rise from the dead to return home to vote against the President.
