Last Kiss, The

Aroview: Well-intentioned remake of Gabriel Muccino’s award-winning Italian melodrama, with Zach Braff as an architect lodged between commitment, fatherhood, and a fleeting affair with a young college girl.

Neither the turkey that those expecting GARDEN STATE 2 called it, nor a confirmation of Braff’s genius, the perceptive script by award-winning Paul Haggis looks at the emotional crises of recently turned thirty-year-olds. The vapidity of the characters may get annoying for some, but the film remains grounded with Braff’s winning everyman portrayal.
