Surviving Desire

Aroview: The hour-long 'Surviving Desire' is an earlier Hartley work that focuses on Hartley's world of the 'college-educated slacker' whose cerebral, verbose and often stylised interactions resonate his distinctive outlook. Martin Donovan is a college professor who alarms his students by spendinglecture after lecture on a single line from the Brothers Karamazov.
