School For Scoundrels
Aroview: Jon Heder changes gears slightly from his breakout NAPOLEON DYNAMITE schtick for this screwball comedy as a young hapless chap who enrolls in a charm school.
It is a decent premise (based on the British film of the same name from 1960), in the hands of a competent comedy director (Phillips having pulled off the STARSKY & HUTCH remake as well as OLD SCHOOL) and Billy Bob Thornton refreshingly ditches his trademark hick to play a sly veteran of the dating scene. A decent enough comic no-brainer, even if the laughs thin out as the plot thickens.
