Aroview: Gore-laden remake of the roadtrip from hell, with a brooding Sean Bean subbing for Rutger Hauer as a deranged hitchhiker on the loose.
Neither as thrilling or cultish as the Brat-packing original, Bean displays good intentions in fleshing out the psychosis of his homicidal killer, though of more immediate concern for dir. Meyers are the trend-making excursions into sadistic torture and violence. Will appease the HOSTEL crowd.
